Review: Holika Holika Wonder Drawing Dot Liner

Hello hello everyone! I'm so glad I've finished all my tests and midterms. I have maybe around one week of freedom before time to head to the books again. =.= Freedom is pretty much wasting time watching YouTube videos, playing games, eating or sleeping, sad sad. Well, it does feel good to rest the brain for a bit. :D

Anyways, I am here for another (rather disappointing) review for a Holika Holika product that I have just received! I was really excited for this product, because it looked so unique, but the the results were just so poor. I hope Holika Holika has some other pen liners that are better than this. =|

Front box packaging. I love the cute witch logo!

Back box packaging. Pretty colours of pink, blue and purple.

Dotty designs on the pen itself.

Back of the pen.

The tip front view.

The tip side view.

Swatched on hand; dotted, single line (tips aligned), 3 line (tips separate), thick line (tips diagonally held).

After smudging with fingers.

After droplets of water, no smudging (I cleaned some black dripping mess up >.<)!

After using eye makeup remover (I used Rimmel London Gentle Eye Makeup Remover). Some staining =/.

Dotted along eyelashes. (Now I realize how much wrinkles and spots I already have NOOO T_T)

Drawn as a line.

So, I got this because of how interesting the tip was, and I do really like it! It's 3 felt tips bundled together, very versatile. You can make a very subtle look just by dotting it, or a dramatic look by holding it diagonally for a thick line. The  pigmentation is great too! It makes a really dark and shiny black. It doesn't pull on my skin, and not too watery. I find it quite easy to hold and use as well. Sounds fantastic right? =.=

However! It is sadly not waterproof. :( Any tiny drop of water will make it runny right away, and it'll leave a huge mess! And I learnt this the hard way Dx.
I wore this for the first time a few days ago, just a thin line on the top lid. I was out with my friend, and I laughed a lot, so my eyes became a bit wet, but not to the point that I was crying. But then I suddenly turned into this:
Panda eyes D:
It was really embarrassing, and undoubtedly I wasn't as cute as the panda :P.

The worst thing is, it leaves a stain even after using eye makeup remover, which won't go away for hours! D:< I don't understand, it comes off when it's not suppose to, but it stays on when I want it off T_T.
So overall, I am really disappointed with this liner. I wonder why they couldn't just make it waterproof. It's great in every other aspect, but the staying power. I wouldn't recommend this, unless you have some ways or awesome eye lids that prevents smudging.

  • Great pigmentation
  • Versitile tip
  • Cute packeging
  • Not waterproof at all
  • Smudges easily
  • Stains

If you have tried this product, please tell me how you liked it, I would love to know!
Thank you so  much for reading! I hope to see you next time very soon! :D
