Review: Holika Holika Apple Shine Peeling Sheet

Hello everyone! :D
I'm back with another review~
Happy June! What have I accomplished in the past month of May? Absolutely nothing ~_~ need to start being more proactive. ;_;

Anyways this product was sent to me by Holika Holika Canada for review!
^^ I'm really excited to try it out since I have never tried this type of exfoliator before! At first I thought it was a mask of some sort, but it's actually a exfoliating pad that you slip on your fingers!

Keep reading to see my review and more pictures :D
BTW please check out my two giveaways on the sidebar if you're interested~ ->
Lovely green apple design. :D
I had no idea what a peeling sheet at first. o.o

"Lustrous and vibrant-looking skin created by country-fresh apple and grain ingredients.
Contains rich concentrations of organic apples, other fresh fruits and grain, which leave your skin looking smooth and lustrous.
Removing the dead skin layer can make your skin as lustrous as a freshly picked apple.
Fruit and hyaluronic acid contents help your skin retain moisture, while removing dead skin cells, to promote supple, vibrant-looking skin."

Back, I'm pretty sure the date on the bottom is the manufacturing date and not the expiration date haha ~_~

Hurray for English instructions!

The scrubbing pad on the inside.
It's double sided so both sides can be used. It also has lot's of serum inside the package which I had to squeeze out on to the exfoliator.

And me using it. x)

Scrubber/Exfoliator
The scrubber itself is quite small, about the size of my palm, but it fits my two fingers perfectly. I really like how it's designed so that it can be worn, really easy to use! The inner lining is made of plastic, and the outside is a fabric-like material, similar to sheet masks. The little green scrubbers are made from a rubbery material, not harsh on the skin at all.

Serum
There's a lot of serum inside the package so I had to squeeze it out on to the scrubber to use it all. It was quite messy as I got some on my shirt and table, but I'm quite clumsy sometimes haha. Holika Holika says the serum contains extracts from fruits and grain, and hyaluronic acid which is supposed to help skin retain moisture. You can check out the list of ingredients here if you're interested.
The serum is this liquidy transparent and white mixture, very drippy. When it dries, it actually become a white powder which is quite interesting, but it also stained my shirt powdery white too. xP

Effects
I really enjoyed using this product! It was quite relaxing scrubbing away at my dead skin cells, and the scrubbers are quite gentle too, did not make my skin red or dry. I used it for about 10 minutes until most of the serum were used up. After I washed the extra serum off my face my skin felt so smooth and airy, if that makes sense. xD But I couldn't stop touching my face! argh It was just so soft and smooth. =w=

Scent
The serum had a hand sanitizer scent, I think they were trying to go for a green apple smell. But it smells really artificial, and a bit like alcohol too. I didn't really like it, but it wasn't too strong either, I hardly smelled it when scrubbing my face.

Overall
I really liked using this peeling sheet, it was quite fun too. It's the first time I'm trying out a product like this, so I can't really compare it with anything else, but it really did make my skin really soft and smooth like a baby's bottom. :D The only thing I didn't like was the scent.

Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Exfoliates for smooth and soft skin
  • Scrubbers not harsh on skin
  • Not drying
Cons
  • Smells like hand sanitizer
  • a bit messy if not careful

I'm really glad Holika Holika Canada sent this to me to try! Thanks!

  6. Not too crazy about the smell, but I've never tried an exfoliator like this so I'd give it a shot soon! Love Holikaholika at Pmall, but it can get so pricey compared to the Holikaholika online prices... D:

I never tried such an exfoliator. Seems to work great, hehe, except of the stains on your shirt.

  18. I don't exfoliate often because my skin gets irritated really easily. But as usual, the cuteness has to be admired. xD

  27. Too bad the second ingredient is alcohol Dx
But I didn't find it drying though. I think this is an apple line of theirs with other apple type skin products, not sure is there's other fruit types xD Thanks for reading Tiffany!

  28. Ohh it might work for blackheads too! But they also have another black head product specific that I'm going to review soon :D. Thank you for reading!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Haha I do like Korean products for this smells too, but some are a bit overwhelming like this one, particularity when it`s like alcohol. :/ But I love this for this for its exfoliating effects :D Thanks for reading Mary!
