Review: Nature Republic Blackhead Brake 3-Step Kit

Hello Hello lovelies!
How are you all this Monday?
(Holiday here in Canada! 8D)

Today I have a review of a blackhead remover product sent to me by Cosme-de

Cosme-de is an online beauty shop that carries not only Korean products, such as Etude House, Skin Food, The Face Shop and lots more! But, they also offer many other famous brands such as Clinique, SK-II, Shu Uemura, Lancome, and so many more! Their selection is really intensive! o.o
The prices are quite competitive too, especially considering that they ship worldwide and offers free shipping on every order! :o
I received my package from them a while ago, and it was very well packaged with tracking number, very satisfied!
Please check their shop out here. :D

Anyway, glad to get to  try this Nature Republic Blackhead Brake 3-Step Kit, since it's my first time trying a Nature Republic product, and I find these blackhead kits quite fun to use, like the Holika Holika Pig nose kit. x)
All reviews are 100% my honest opinion not effected in anyway by sponsors. ^^

Keep reading for more photos and the full review~!
Simplistic packaging, but I do wonder why Morocco is highlighted on the map. o.o

The back

The sides contains detailed English instructions and ingredients! Also states that Nature Republic uses natural quality ingredients. :)

The 3 products on contained.

I'll go though each step one by one. ^^
#1 Smoothing Toner
First step is the Smoothing Toner!
It states the step as a number on the back of the bottle, it's the only thing I understand on there! xD
It contains 30ml of product.

The first step is a toner, a pore-opening toner.

"The toner gently dissolves blackheads and opens pores so that blackheads can be released to the skin surface"

So just like a regular toner, use this on a cotton pad then dab onto the nose area.
This feels quite refreshing and cooling on my skin. The scent is sweet but also has a hint of alcohol.
After the toner has dried it's time to move on to the next step!

#2 Sebum Control Pack (Peel Off)
This comes in a squeeze type bottle with 50ml of product.

The second step is the fun part!

"This nose pack removes blackheads effectively though the excellent sebum-absorbing capabilities of Moroccan lava clay"
I see why Morocco is highlighted on the map now. :D

When first squeezed out, it feels like a very sticky, almost plastic glue like. Only need a small amount is needed to cover the entire nose. I needed work quickly spreading it, so there will be an even coverage. It's important to have an even coverage because the it's easier to remove the pack as a whole than in small pieces.
It has a plastic glue type smell to it, but it's not as bad as it sounds, and it's not too strong either.

Here's how it looks on my nose!

Then after it's completely dried (around 15 minutes), it's time to peel it off. It can be a bit tricky to find a starting point, but once you find an edge it's pretty easy to remove. And I feel my pores actually gotten tighter, and smoother after this step!
Unlike a pore strip, this doesn't actually pull blackheads out, which can sometimes lead to bigger pores if used too often. This absorbs the blackheads that has been dissolved in step 1.

#3 Pore Tightening Serum
It comes in a smaller squeeze tube with 30ml of product.

"This serum makes the skin porcelain smooth by shrinking pores that have loosened after removing blackheads"

It's a gel-like serum, and it feels watery. Here only a small amount is need to apply to the entire nose area. It feels cooling and soothing. It also has a similar scent to the toner, minus the alcohol.

Here's the before and after the entire 3 steps. The difference is not too great visually, but I do feel my nose is smoother and not as bumpy with all the dirt in it, perhaps it shows here as well. My pores doesn't seem as clustered as before either, and my pores are looks cleaner too.

Overall
Even though the difference is not drastic, I think this kit does it's job. I can see a difference in that my pores are less dirty and are smoother too! :D
It's also comparable to the Holika Holika pig nose 3 step kit. However I have to say I prefer this one for multiple reasons:
 1. The Holika Holika's 3 steps all use some kind of sheet mask, which takes longer to dry and leads to more waste of materials.
2. This can be used multiple times, and so it's much more cost efficient.
3. This doesn't use a pore strip. Even though the effect of this might not be as drastic, it is gentler on the pores.

Pros
  • Minimizes pores
  • Cleans pores
  • Soothing steps 1 and 3
  • Gentle on the pores compared to pore strips
  • Instant results
Cons
  • Slight alcohol scent in step 1
  • 2nd step maybe difficult to peel off
If you are interested in this product you can find it here for $16!

Have you ever tried a pore cleansing kit?

Thanks again to Cosme-de for sending me this product to try!

Thanks for reading this review!
See you next post~ ^^

  12. lol That reminds me of when I was little I would purposely squeeze glue on my hands, let them dry, then peel them off! It was the best feeling ever! xD guess it's one of those things that only some people like. xD They really do have good prices, and it's speaking from personal experience . x) Thanks for reading Bethany!

  13. It's a decent alternative to pore strips, and I think the price is worth it since you can use it plenty of times. :D
