Review: Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Lost Identity #2 Lost in Hawaii

This product was sent to me by Cosmetic-love for review purposes. The opinions expressed are 100% my own, and are not affected in any way by the sponsorship.

Hello Lovelies~

Today I have a lip crayon for review! It's from Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Lost Identity (interesting name isn't it, I like it! :D) , and I have it in the colour #2 Lost in Hawaii! Thanks to Cosmetic-love for sending me this to try. ^^ I've never tried a product from Too Cool For School, but from what I have seen, their concept and designs are very unique and, I absolutely love it!

This is also my first lip crayon. xD I don't use coloured lip products often, so this will be a new experience for me as well! I was keen on trying new lip products, and this packaging really drew me in, it's a scroll! *_* I just love interesting and unique things like this. haha

Anyway, keep reading for the full review and photos and swatches~ ^^
Love the hand-drawn look on this packaging design. <3

On the back side, not much English but covers the basics.

And here's the lip crayon, wrapped up in the scroll! :D

Look at the design on the inside! Pretty interesting. :D

And finally here's the lip crayon! It even has the nice design on it as well. :)
The bottom black part is twistable.

The tip, and the amount of product. Since I don't use lip products that much, this is going to last me a long time. ^^

Swatches! This photo is taken outside on a sunny day. The colour looks quite vibrant.

And before and after on my lips.

Texture/Application
I love how this glides on so smoothly, even when my lips are kind of dry, it does not pull on the lips at all. It's very creamy too. At first it does feel moisturizing, because of its creaminess, but I don't feel it keeps my lips moisturized, so it would be best to wear lip under it. The formula is not too sticky, and it doesn't feel too heavy, just average I would say.

Colour
In the tube it looks like a bright orange, and even when swatched it looks very pigmented. On the lips however, it looks much more sheer more like a peachy colour, and I think it's a good thing! It looks natural, but brightens up my whole face. :D The colour makes my lips looks less dull, and adds a subtle pop of colour. It's sheer enough for everyday wear, and I really love it! It's my first orange lip product, and I really love how the colour makes me feel energized. 8D

Wear
I wore this for about 5 hours with some eating before it faded completely. Like I've mentioned before, this lip crayon is not particularly moisturizing even though it's creamy, especially after a few hours, my lips will feel dry. And if I didn't exfoliate, then there will be some dead skin mixed with the lip colour. -.- After a few hours, I find the colour sinks in to lip lines, and becomes uneven.

Scent/Taste
In the tube, it smells like coconuts and pineapple? I'm not sure if it's the name 'Lost in Hawaii' making me think this way, but it smells tropical! xD And it's a very soft scent too, I like it! Taste wise, I do not detect any taste at all. :P

Overall
I really like this! It's super creamy and goes on lips very smoothly. The colour is sheer, and great for everyday wear, and really brightens the lips! The wear is fine, but it's not particularity moisturizing and do sink into lines after a while. But overall I'm satisfied with it, and it's worth a try! :D

Pros
  • Creamy and smooth application
  • Sheer colour
  • Brightens lips
  • Natural looking
  • Decent wear
  • Unique packaging
Cons
  • Not moisturizing
  • Skin into lip lines after some time
  • Not recommend if you want an opaque colour

  25. I really like sheer lippies like this, so I don't mind that the colour is not as vibrant. Maybe I exaggerated a bit, it's not super drying, but not moisturizing even though it feels creamy, it that means sense. :P
    Thanks for reading Elle!

  32. Even though is not very pigmented, it does give a cute tone to the lips, but the price is a little big too high, right?
