Review: Etude House Juicy Pop Tube #7 Strawberry Smoothie

Hi everyone!!

Welcome to my bloggins! xD
Gosh it's been another four days since my last post, time flies when you're already behind in school. Dx lol
How have you been?

Today I have a review on an Etude House lip gloss that I bought some time ago. I really don't use lip glosses, since I just don't like them in general because of their stickiness, I really dislike stickiness for anything. But I thought I would give them a chance again after years of avoiding them. :P And since it's Etude House it can't be too bad right? ~_~

This Etude House Juicy Pop Tube comes in 8 different fruity colours, and I got the #7 Strawberry Smoothie! yum~

Please keep reading to see the review and photos~! :D
It's a basic lip gloss in a simple squeeze tube with a slanted applicator tip.

The packaging is really nothing out of the ordinary, the cap is twistable, and the tube is squeezable.
The tube is translucent, so you can see the actual colour of the gloss.

Features
-Contains grape seed oil, mixed fruit complex, mango seed oil, coconut oil.
-Tube-type lip-gloss with bright and vivid colours that give soft and glossy effect.
-Treats dull lips to become moisturized lips.
-Sweet fruit scent.

The tip.
On certain website selling this, the directions for this lip gloss is to be used with a lip brush, I know it's hygienic, and unless I want to be precise, I'm just too lazy to do so. xD

The picture here is taken on an overcast day, so it's not as vibrant as the pictures above.
Also, when I was doing the swatching, there was some specks of dark pink that came from the tube, as you probably can see in the bottom swatch. I have no idea if it's supposed to be in there or not. o.O

Here's on my lips. These are taken outdoors.
The tint I used in the 3rd picture is the Peripera Peri's Tint Milk in Milky Pink

Texture/Application
If you're just using this tube to apply directly on to the lips, it won't be precise, but it gets the job done.
The first thing I noticed when applying this was that it's sticky! D': I kind of expected it to be anyways. =3= But the tube applicator sticks to my lips and drags on my lips too. Not very pleasant. It also feels thick and heavy, like a blanket that's keeping my lips warm, but a sticky blanket. LOL
I think it would be best to use in small amounts, such as just in the centre of the lips to make them look more voluptuous. x)

Colour
The colour I have is #7 Strawberry Smoothie. It looks like a bright pink in the tube, but it's not very pigmented on the lips. As you can see in the picture above, with only the gloss, it looks slightly milky pink, but still very plain. So it's not vivid and bright like it claims, but It does give a lot of shine though, so I paired it with a lip tint of similar colour. I really like how it looks with the tint, it add shine to an otherwise matte colour.

Wear
Like I said earlier, it's very sticky, and if you get hair blown on it, it feels very unpleasant. t_t And this stickiness lasts until the gloss wears off, which is fairly quick around 2-3 hours. And if I was eating it'll be eaten right away. e_e The heaviness lasts too, but I guess I get habituated to it, and it doesn't bother me as much. This however do make my lips feel glossy and moisturized, because it's so thick my lips does not get exposed to the environment at all.
2.5/5

Scent/Taste
It smells like a creamy sweet strawberry, kind of like cotton candy. A bit too sweet for my liking, almost nauseating if I sniff it too much. lol
Taste wise, there's not much, but at least it's not unpleasant.
3.5/5

Overall
This lip gloss did not exceed my expectations. I do wish the colour was more noticeable, this colour makes it looks like a clear gloss. I would recommend to use this over a tint or lip stick to add shine. However the stickiness and heaviness may turn most people away from this.
2/5

Pros
-Glossy
-Moisturizing

Cons
-Sticky
-Thick and heavy
-Faint colour
-Wears off quick

If you are interested in this product you can find it on some online stores such as: Ebay, Jolse, Korea Depart for around $4-6. It's fairly cheap, so some colours may be worth a try.

Do you like lip glosses? What is your favorite?

I think I'll stay away from lip glosses for sometime, unless I can find one that's not sticky! Though, I think it would be a bit difficult to find a gloss that's shiny and not sticky at the same time. =3=

Okay, thank you for reading! ^^
Please let me know what kind of lip glosses you like, I would love to try some that are not too sticky. :3
See you next post! :D

  4. I'm not to fond of sticky lip products :D the worst is, if there is a lot of wind outside and your hair sticks to your lips and you can't do anything about it >_< I hate it :D

  5. I probably pass on this lip gloss because of its stickiness :/ I hate sticky lips SO much. I hate when my hair sticks on my lips when it's windy >< That's the main reason why I don't use glosses very often. I only have a clear lipgloss by essence and that one is REALLY good imo! It feels so lightweight, isn't sticky and smells like raspberries *u* huhu I would highly recommend this one if you're looking for a clear lipgloss because it's so affortable too~
    And thanks for the review and always commenting on my blog posts, Chee! ; u ;

  6. I'm not a fan of lip glosses, but the YSL lip glosses are great (but they're expensive QQ). I hate when hair gets into the lip gloss on windy days, so I try to avoid using them since tinted lip balms still give a shiny effect even though it's subtle~

I was going to get one before, but not anymore aha. Thank you for the honest review though!

  10. I agree allllll about the stickiness factor--I really dislike it when my glosses have any stickiness and that's mainly why I don't wear them and only lip tints or lip balms. :S I wish I could get back into the world of lip glosses, but it's so annoying when my hair flies over my lips!!! u.u

  22. I actually don't really like the colour by it self, but I do like it with a tint underneath. :)
But that stickiness just ruins everything. D:
