Review: Skin Food Peach Sake Pore BB Cream

Hello Hello :3

Today I have a review on a BB cream! *_*

This Skin Food Peach Sake Pore BB Cream is part of the Peach Sake Pore Line, which contains many types of products such as sheet masks, serums, powder, lotion, and a pact which I have reviewed before. :D Since I was pretty satisfied with the pact, I decided to try the BB cream out!
Thanks to Ji eun from iamLove-shop/cosmetic.jolse.com for letting me try this. :)

Please keep reading for the full review and photos!~
This tube is one of the smallest full-sized BB cream I've had!
It only has 30 ml of product, the pump is about two-thirds of the whole packaging! x)
But it's quite cute. :D

"Peach Sake Pore BB cream is a pore-refining cream that regulates sebum secretion while creating a flawless and matte complexion minus the greasy feeling.
Add to that a 20 SPF sun protection factor, and you have one of Skin Food's most popular products on the market."
-Description taken from cosmetic.jolse.com

There is two shades available: #1 Light Beige and #2 Natural Beige.
The one I have is #2.

Although this BB cream did not come in a box, the packaging design is quite cute!
I especially like the wood textured cap. :)

Close up of the description.

The pump.

Here's how it looks not blended, partially blended, and fully blended on my arm.
The weird dent was caused by my hair tie. ha +_+

Oil blotting sheet test.

And on my face.
The lighting is a bit harsh, you can see all the pores and blackheads bleh! +_+
Looks better with BB cream on.

Texture/Application
The pump is a standard BB cream pump, and it's easy to control how much you want to dispense.
The texture is very similar to the Etude House Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream, but just a bit thicker. Even though it's one of the thicker BB creams I've tried, it is still easy to blend. As you can see from the images above, the BB cream doesn't streak, has an even texture, and doesn't sink into lines! Which I like a lot!
When I tested this BB cream on the back of my hand it wasn't sticky, however, on my face it was just a bit sticky. So I recommend to put powder on after! Also this felt a bit heavier than some other BB creams.

Colour/Coverage
The colour of this BB cream actually surprised me by how yellow toned it was! I had the #2 Natural Beige shade, so I wasn't expecting it to be very pale anyway, but when I pumped this out it was so much yellower than I imagined! xD Especially for the indoor photos such as the oil blotting test photo, you can see it's a darker beige than most BB creams. But good thing, it blends out nicely to match my yellow undertone skin. I also like the fact that the colour doesn't wash me out, or make me look too pale. :)
The coverage is medium, I was expecting it to have a heavier coverage since it's a bit thick. But it does cover most of my pores and redness so it's good enough for me! :D

Wear
The oil control is really good, I had the BB cream on for about 3-4 hours without shininess, please keep in mind I have normal skin, and don't usually have excess oil.
The wear for this is quite long too, I had it on for about 6-7 hours, and it's staying on my face, and when I wipe my face with tissue, it shows as well. But of course it has faded a bit.

Scent
Very similar to the Peach Sake Pore Pact, this has a powdery peachy scent! It's quite nice, I like it. :D

Overall
I really like this BB cream for it's long wear and oil control! The coverage is good, but could be better. It does feel thicker than some other BB creams, but I guess that makes it last longer as well. :D I would recommend this to people with oily or combination skinned people. :)

Pros
  • Long wear
  • Good oil control
  • Smells nice
  • Medium coverage
  • Non-streaky
  • Easy to blend
  • Good for people with yellow undertones
Cons

  • Thicker than most BB creams
  • A bit sticky
  • Not much product

What's your current favourite BB cream?

My current favourite is still the Holika Holika Face 2 Change roller BB cream! It was previously the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB for the longest time, but it's still a favourite of mine. :P

Thanks for reading this post! ^^

I'll be starting school again next Tuesday, so I might be updating a bit less than the summer months. But since I have a four day weekend, I'll still have plenty of time. 8D Hopefully!
Ok see you soon!

  5. I was thinking of purchasing it in summer, it really seems nice and light coverage. But now summer is gone(( Btw how does it react to water? Does it turn white?

  6. The name sounds so interesting but I prefer more coverage in my bb creams.. Since it's thick it must be hard to blend! Nice review..

Would you recommend this one or the one by Etude house cotton/bright fit for combination oily skin? I'm currently looking for a nice present for my best friend that's why I'm asking haha
    And thanks for the review!~

  13. Oh well, I actually think there are more BB creams with pink and cool undertones than yellow/warm undertones! Which is strange since they are mostly catered to Asians. x) But thanks for reading Kat!

  14. The price is good, Jolse has some really nice prices! But the BB cream is really small. xD Thanks for reading!

  15. Ya this one and the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB definitely has yellow undertones! Don't know if you have tried that one yet, but it's one of my favourites. ^^ Thanks for reading June!

  17. I tested it with water, and no it doesn't turn white. :P Same colour.
I think it's better suited for winter since it is kind of a heavier BB cream than most, even though the coverage is light. >.<
    Thanks for reading!

  18. Ohhh it's a pretty lid :3

  19. The blending is alright, but I agree, I want more coverage in my BB creams as well, but I guess this is okay. :P Thanks for reading!

  21. Oh, thanks ^^ We have really brutal winters so this shall do it for coldest months))

  22. LOL at farm-like xD I don't know why but that really made me chuckle. >u< I agree their packaging is always nature-esque, quite nice. :D Thanks for reading!

  23. It does feel a little heavy, compared to other BB creams, but not so much once you wear it for sometimes, you kind of get use to it. xD

  24. How was the toner and emulsion? I want to try it, but at the same time this BB cream didn't 'wow' me so I'm hesitant. :P Thanks for reading Rini!

  25. Ya I think this BB cream is just 'ok' in my opinion. The stickiness and heaviness really disappointed me. :< But oh well at least the oil control is nice ^^
    Thanks for reading Shin!

  26. Huhu thank you so much Mindy for reading them too. ;u;
I've never tried the cotton fit version from Etude House, but the bright fit is one of my favourite BB creams! Although this BB cream has good oil control, maybe more so than the bright fit from Etude, but I think the overall formula and texture, Etude house wins hands down! I heard the cotton fit version is great for combination oily skin, so I think you should go with that one to give to your friend. :>
    Thanks for reading ^^

  27. Thanks for helping me out :D I really love that you like to communicate with your followers LOL

  28. I use etude house's bb cream cotton fit while my sister use the bright fit one. The different between these two bb creams is that the cotton fit would match for oily skin because it will gives you semi-matte finish while the bright fit one would match for normal-dry skin since it gives you glowy and dewy look. :)

  29. I use Skin79 orange BB (I have oily skin) and this is the best BB for me so I can recommend it :)

  30. I ever tried their Peach Sake Pore Base and love it because it works so well and smells so nice too! Nice review for the BB Cream and but too bad they don't cover much..

  31. I just love BB creams - they're amazing, but remember, you'd want to pick the product that's right for your skin type. That said, here are some of the best Korean BB creams for dry skin.

  32. Hi, are the photos of your original product?

    I
bought mine online and,in contradiction to all photos I can find in the
Internet, it has 3 line of text at the front (same as yours). Most of
the pics show packagings with 4 lines instead. I'm quite confused. I've
written an email too. Would appreciate your help so much <3

Then – does it mean that SkinFood actually released a packing with 3 lines of text? Thanks in advance <3
